Cambridge company continues its channel growth plans
Signify is a real Cambridge success story and has continued to buck the national trend by increasing headcount by 25% in 2012 already. In the same period, the company has increased its revenues by 10% over last year.
Charlie Mertz joins Signify following 10 years with hi-tech companies Imerge, Merdian Audio and Evolve Media and brings with him significant commercial knowledge and experience.
Neil Macehiter has been appointed as database administrator while Ben Murray takes the role of senior developer and Daniel Youngs has been recruited as a junior technical researcher in the Signify Research Labs. And finally, Laura Houghton joins as office administrator to strengthen the back office team.
Macehiter joins Signify from Cambridgeshire County Council and his focus will be on Signify’s service delivery infrastructure to ensure delivery of the high performance, scalability, availability and security that Signify is known for.
Murray previously worked as a web developer for Aviva and will work closely with both the product development team and the Signify research lab to enhance and evolve the Signify service.
Youngs’ appointment is a direct result of the success of Signify’s research labs and he will focus on researching authentication, SSL VPNs and mobile device management technologies. He has a degree in Computer Science from Anglia Ruskin University which included a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
Laura will be the first point of contact for Signify visitors and staff, making sure the day to day running of the office goes smoothly and helping out in the finance, sales and marketing teams.
“We are very pleased to welcome Charlie, Neil, Ben, Daniel and Laura to the Signify team,” said Dave Abraham, CEO. “It is the people at Signify that enable us to deliver the highest levels of availability and customer service that customers demand from a hosted service. It is down to the Signify team that we have been able to take advantage of the growing need for secure remote access services and have continued to grow over the past couple of years despite the economic downturn.”
In 2011, Signify saw the number of new customers grow by 10%, while the number of users active on its service increased by 15%.
