Selecting and collaborating with manufacturing partners to achieve successful product launch
Tuesday 18th October, 14:10 PDT
Successfully bringing drug delivery products to market requires reliable manufacture of your device, to meet performance specifications and commercial constraints. Choosing the correct contract manufacturing organisation (CMO) and collaborating effectively with them is therefore critical to product launch. Based on 30 years’ experience, Chris Hurlstone describes what is needed for a successful relationship with your CMO, and strategies for avoiding some of the challenges that can arise.
Assessing the environmental impact of global supply chain logistics and supplier selection for injection devices
Tuesday 18th October, 16:05 PDT
Globalised manufacturing is common place in the medical industry, with companies needing multiple supply options that are both practical and sustainable. Alastair Willoughby discusses why early consideration and selection of the supply chain for your medical device is more important than ever.
Key design considerations for an emergency-use injection system
Ensuring user safety involves a variety of effective design considerations, from the device user interface to packaging and industrial design. Standardisation has also been an effective way of helping to promote user safety, as can be seen in auto-injectors with many opting for the same two-step process. However, if we look at the emergency-use injector space, there is still a lot of variety in the market. John Burke’s poster will explore why this is the case, considering user needs and why effective design and user testing is ultimately the key to ensuring safety.
