Soraya Jones joins Digital Catapult’s Spin-out Pitch-off judging panel

St John’s Innovation Centre, the first innovation centre of its kind in Europe, is delighted to have been involved with Digital Catapult’s successful Spin-out Pitch off competition which took place last week in London.

 

The UK’s top technology innovators pitched their product/service at Spin-out Pitch-off, as part of the Digital Shoreditch Festival this year.This exciting showcase evening saw presentations from a series of talented entrepreneurs pitching an array of business ideas from crowdfunding and innovative kitchen tools to medical monitoring.

Soraya Jones, Entrepreneur in Residence at St John’s Innovation Centre (pictured above, third left), was invited to join the judging panel and chair of the judges, alongside Steve Crossan from Google and Melanie Marchant from Angel Academe. She commented: “I am thrilled to have been involved with Spin-out Pitch-off. The pitches introduced new and exciting business ideas; I predict one or two of the business ideas will go far."

The prize for ‘most innovative product/service’ was awarded to ClearSky Medical Diagnostics, a tool to measure dyskinesia, while the award for ‘best pitch’ went to Crossword Security Rizikon, a cloud-based cyber risk and threat assessment tool.  CHOP CHOP, a dynamic learning and task management app for the kitchen backed by artificial intelligence, took home the ‘audience choice award’.
