Stone King welcomes new joiners

In its latest recruitment drive, Cambridge law firm Stone King is pleased to welcome new legal experts to various teams across its national offices.

The firm’s Corporate & Commercial team has welcomed Solicitor Ben Phillips in December, and Laura Giles will join in January as a Senior Associate. Ben joins from IBB Law and will focus on general corporate & commercial work, including intellectual property.

For Laura this marks a return to Stone King. Her broad range of expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate and social finance, commercial agreements and corporate reorganisations, among other areas.

Stone King Partner Miguel Pereira, who heads the Corporate & Commercial team, says: “We are delighted to welcome Laura back to the team, she is an extremely knowledgeable and skilled lawyer and we look forward to working with her again and to raise the profile of our corporate and commercial expertise in Leeds. Ben will be an asset to our growing national team as we go into another busy year.”

The firm also welcomed Kate Tomlinson as an Associate Solicitor in its Information Law team in December.

In January the firm will welcome two new recruits to its Trusts and Estates team. Emily Moberly joins Stone King as an Associate from Wards Solicitors and brings with her extensive experience in Wills and probate. Stephen Horton will join as an Associate Chartered Tax Adviser, having previously worked at Thrings.

Stone King Partner Kathryn Layzell, who heads the Trusts and Estates team, says: “It is an exciting time of growth for our team and we look forward to Emily and Stephen joining us at the beginning of 2022. It has been a challenging time for many and we will endeavour to do everything we can to continue supporting our clients through the months ahead, aided by our strengthened team.”
