Suttons Performance Packaging is celebrating its Golden Jubilee with another strong year of growth and capital investment.
The company remains one of the UK's largest converters of Stratocell® polyethylene foam for the design and production of unique packaging solutions for clients in medical, electronics, pharmaceutical and automotive industries.
With annual sales approaching £5.0 million the company continues to out-perform the sector and maintains its reputation as one the most innovative, service-driven specialist packaging companies in the UK.
Continuous investment in state-of-the-art machinery over the history of the company has helped keep Suttons ahead of the pack. The past 12 months alone have seen new printing and converting machinery arrive at the Chatteris site, including a series of Bizzozero automatic stitching machines and a 2-colour Topra Printer Slotter - not much change from £0.5 Million for these ‘best-in-class’ machines.
The focus on service and quality remain constant – with a drive to deliver award winning packaging solutions that are both cost-effective and environmentally conscious, adopting recycling policies and working with innovative materials for clients looking to meet and exceed sustainability targets.
Under the stewardship of the grandson of the founder Albert Sutton, current MD Simon Sutton has taken the family business to new heights. In 2004 the company relocated to a new purpose-built factory located in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. The 40,000 sq ft combined office and manufacturing facility is home to over 60 employees and a fleet of wholly owned trucks to give full control over their logistics and help deliver on the service commitment too.
Simon is passionate about the heritage he carries forward and his rigorous attention to detail ensures this family business continues to stand head and shoulders above its competitors.
