Purging the air (oxygen and nitrogen impurities) and maintaining low levels of moisture in the inert gas is crucial to avoid unwanted reactions during the battery manufacturing process. The LD8000 MultiGas Analyzer was selected because it is capable of accurately monitoring all the parameters in a single, compact unit.
Nitrogen impurities are measured in a continuous argon gas stream using LDetek’s patented Plasma Emission Detector (PED). Ntron’s Senz-Tx Oxygen Transmitter and the Michell Easidew Dew-Point Transmitter are included in the same chassis to provide continuous measurements of the key impurities in the process: nitrogen, oxygen and trace moisture. Set up and operation are also simple since all parameters are monitored and logged with a single user interface.
LD8000 MultiGas is available in either a 3U or 4U rack mount chassis for easy integration into existing processes. It is capable of mixing and matching the best of the technologies available from the PST brands, enabling it to be tailored to applications with highly specific requirements. While the PED measures exclusively in an Argon or Helium, both the humidity and oxygen trace impurities are measurable in a broad range of background gases. As well as the Easidew Dew-Point Transmitter, Michell’s Quartz Crystal Microbalance trace moisture sensor can also be selected as an option.
