Developed by Mark Goodson and John Hall, Performance CoMentoring™ integrates coaching and mentoring activities with a performance framework to develop leadership, teamwork, employee engagement, and organisational performance. Participants attend monthly, evening tuition sessions and working together in rotating mentor-mentee pairs in between.
According to Mark Goodson: “Demand for mentoring is growing rapidly but companies have problems implementing internal mentoring programmes. At the same time, management training budgets and training time are being squeezed. Performance CoMentoring tackles these two major problems in management development.”
John Hall says: “The monthly workshops are designed to offer attendees practical tools that they can help each other implement, with the aim of gaining significant performance increases over the duration of the programme. As an investment, attendees will get a much higher return than spending the same money on a two to three day course.”
The concept of Performance CoMentoring™ originated from a chance discussion at CamJelly, Cambridge's popular weekly coworking event. “John and I were discussing the poor return-on-investment of many management training initiatives over a coffee and it quickly became apparent that mentoring would help managers apply new techniques to their specific circumstances and encourage them to persevere with them,” says Mark.
The first programme begins on Monday October 8th 2012 at The Entrepreneurship Centre, Cambridge and will run until July 2013 organised on a semester basis.
