Organised by Meet Cambridge, the official, free venue-finding bureau for meetings and events in the city and beyond, the exclusive showrounds comprise two, three and four venues all within one session – making it effective for organisers in terms of time.
Open Doors run from June to November, with the first on 22nd June when attendees will have the opportunity to take in an eclectic mix of unusual spaces - from a historic debating chamber to beautiful gardens and traditional academic halls - by visiting Cambridge Union Society, Westminster College and Lucy Cavendish College.
Places on the tours need to be reserved but are free of charge to event organisers. Each one is limited to just 14 guests and the compact schedule will enable participants to see a range of rooms and facilities, as well as have the opportunity to discuss their individual needs with conference teams.
Most are conducted on foot, within Cambridge city but for those venues beyond, complimentary transport to and from central Cambridge is provided.
Judith Sloane from Meet Cambridge said: “We are delighted to announce our new series of Open Doors which have been created to cater for busy event organisers who need to look at venues for their events. Each tour has been arranged to showcase facilities at a selection of our venues – ranging from traditional Colleges to modern luxury hotels and unique spaces such as the Imperial War Museum at Duxford and Newmarket Racecourses.
“Feedback from previous Open Doors events shows that offering a compact programme really does work and not only can several venues be seen in one go, all the arrangements are made too. We look forward to sharing our unique venues with event planners over the next six months.”
