CodiKoat, the company that started life at the EpiCentre, Haverhill, in 2020 at the height of the COVID pandemic with a ground-breaking technology that kills viruses and bacteria on surfaces within seconds, is on the expansion trail, growing into more space at the EpiCentre, recruiting new staff and launching new products.
It now has its own dedicated chemistry laboratory space with 6 desks alongside 4 microbiology spaces within the building. As part of its expansion its world-class scientific team is growing, with a number of new scientific roles advertised so far this year that have generated interest from hundreds of applicants from all over the world. Further scientific positions are due to be advertised in the coming weeks and months.
At the same time and following a trial at The Stephen Perse Senior School in Cambridge, the innovative Vent-Axia PureAir Room 500 X Air Purifier, which is powered by CodiKoat technology, has just been launched onto the market. It removes and kills harmful particulates from the air that you breathe, breaks down pollutants and neutralises bad smells in seconds.
During the pilot at the Stephen Perse Senior School site in Cambridge, the air purification system was installed in classrooms, the gymnasium and the dining hall, and was operational from the start of term in September 2022.
Filter samples which were analysed in that time showed no reduction in efficacy of the system, with all filters remaining 99.9% effective at removing airborne pathogens and viruses throughout the testing period.

The EpiCentre was amongst the first in the world to feel the benefits of the Vent-Axia PureAir 500 X Air Purifier. Having been gifted one for use in the communal café in the building, the PureAir 500 X has been protecting patrons throughout 2023.

CodiKoat was founded by three ex-students of Cambridge, Imperial and UCL and who each completed their PhDs in relevant fields.
