Latest update on donations to help support guests at Crossways.

On 1st November Crossways, It Takes a City's winter emergency accommodation project, reopened its doors to guests who would otherwise be facing time on the streets.

Staff are always humbled by the generosity of the community, whose help they rely upon to ensure the comfort of every guest.  In the past week alone, they have been busy taking donations from several regular supporters.

Since 2020, BEFA (Buckingham Emergency Food Appeal) have provided It Takes a City with fresh fruit, vegetables and other items. Without their donations the volunteer kitchen team would find it difficult to prepare the daily hot meals they offer every guest, or keep their cupboards stocked. Thanks go to Ken Smith, BEFA’s amazing coordinator, and his team of helpers.

Emma receiving the latest weekly BEFA donations

Emma was happy to receive the latest weekly delivery. They’ll make sure nothing goes to waste.

Bare Necessities are a local charity with a simple idea.  Raise money from individuals via small, regular donations, and then use these funds to buy socks, underwear and other items that can bring comfort to those who are on the streets or in need.

Todd Mackintosh, Bare Necessities founder, popped in for a visit and to deliver over 300 pairs of socks and underwear for both women and men.  Thank you Todd for your continuing support.

Thanks also to the Department of Geography at Cambridge University for their generous £300 donation. The money will help with food and housekeeping costs.

If you’d like to donate food, personal, other items or money to support Crossways, please refer to this list.
