WaveFX streamed the two hour naming ceremony of HMS Elizabeth to BAE sites across the globe. Streamed via satellite to a password protected website, staff could watch on specially constructed LED video walls, their laptops and even mobile phones.
The Prime Minister, David Cameron, was there to see the event, along with First Minister Alex Salmond and former prime minister Gordon Brown.
Defence Secretary Philip Hammond said: “HMS Queen Elizabeth is the largest ship that the Royal Navy has ever constructed and is a true demonstration of the UK at its best, with over 10,000 people and 100 companies across the country working together to deliver her.
Adrian Taplin of WaveFX commented, “We are extremely proud to have been invited to stream this event, it’s truly a once in a lifetime event. Our thanks go to whitsepace productions and the amazing team at broadsword productions for the opportunity”
Work is already underway on HMS Queen Elizabeth’s sister ship HMS Prince of Wales which will start to be assembled in Rosyth dockyard later this year.
