‘White Villa’ sign up at London’s new trade park

Surrey Canal Trade Park, owned by leading Cambridge property investor and developer Howard Group, has officially opened, with two new occupiers now trading and others set to follow suit.

The Park is based on Surrey Canal Road in Lewisham, adjacent to the 57,000 sq ft ‘Tea Shed’, another Howard Group-owned site currently let by DHL. It is one of the most prominent trade parks to have been built in central London in recent years.

National Trade counter occupier Crown Decorating Centres became the first occupier to sign up for a pre-let unit in November 2015. More recently, signage and awning manufacturer and supplier White Villa became the second company to sign up for the largest unit on the estate.

Colin Brown, development manager at Howard Group, said: “We’re delighted to have White Villa installed as our latest occupier. They are a long established, family business looking to improve their business space and preserve the future of their operations in this part of London. We’re pleased that we’ve been able to facilitate their next step. We are also making great strides in securing occupiers for the other units now that practical completion has occurred.” Another national trade counter occupier is now under offer on one of the remaining vacant units.

The Surrey Canal Trade Park provides five trade counter/industrial units ranging from 3,035 sq ft to 6,775 sq ft, all of which will benefit from direct roadside frontage.

The Park has been constructed on an exciting regeneration zone, in which there are over 12,500 new homes planned as well as substantial commercial redevelopment.
