WorkWell pilot programme supports over 400 people in first 3 months

Since launching in November 2024 the WorkWell programme has seen over 400 people accessing the service across Cambridgeshire with 39% of participants currently in work and struggling due to a health-related barrier or signed-off work as a result.

WorkWell

WorkWell is free, voluntary, and it offers employees an opportunity to confidentially talk about their work and health needs.  It aims to prevent them falling out of work due to a disability or health condition. It also supports employees in managing a condition when they return to work from a sickness absence. Participants access a Work and Health Coach, and together they agree next steps as part of a personalised action plan which will signpost to the full range of locally available support.

Employers who connect their employees to initiatives like WorkWell create healthier, more productive teams. By fostering a supportive work environment, businesses can reduce staff turnover, increase morale, and boost overall efficiency.  WorkWell is intended to complement and not replace existing human resources, occupational health or health support offers.

Participants in the service come from a wide range of employment sectors demonstrating that health related barriers to work is an area all businesses should be concerned with.  The top 4 sectors with employees participating in WorkWell are:  17% health and social work background, 11% retail, wholesale and motor trade, 9% education and 7% business support and administration.
