“The Xaar 1002 GS40 is the next step for digital inkjet to extend beyond the decoration phase in producing intense colours and special effects to increase differentiation and added-value,” says Richard Barham, Sales and Marketing Director, Xaar. “We are making further digitalisation of tile production easy by delivering high laydown capability in the same form factor as the Xaar 1002. As it is driven by the same electronics it can be rapidly adopted and implemented by tile printer manufacturers and is expected to appear in machines from Tecnargilla.”
The Xaar 1002 GS40 has the ability to lay down a wider range of inks with larger pigment particles, to give strong, vibrant colours and a range of glaze effects. This will bring incredibly valuable flexibility and differentiation to tile manufacturers. With this new technology, tile manufacturers can lay-down up to 40 g/m2. This high pigment load is delivered with 5 grey levels using up to 160 pL drops, enabling the Xaar 1002 GS40 to fulfil the promise of Big Colour and Big Effects.
Xaar’s OEMs can adopt this special Xaar 1002 GS40 quickly and easily as the existing decoration machine head mounts and print bars can accommodate the new printhead without modification. Similarly the electronics are 100 % backwards compatible enabling ease of integration and familiar operation on the production lines.
“We are thrilled to announce the GS40 as the first of our 3 new printheads that will further enable tile manufacturers to move forward in realising the vision we share for digitalising their production lines,” says Barham.
