Xampla bolsters food and drink expertise with industry hires

Expert creators of drop-in, high performance natural replacements for plastic, Xampla, has further expanded its expert team with two new hires to support the development of its food applications, including spray coatings.

Hannah Pearse (pictured left) joins the Cambridge-based team as Nutrition Business Manager and Agnieszka Mizgier (pictured right) as Quality and Food Safety Manager, in response to increased demand from the food and beverage industry for Xampla’s innovative materials. With these latest hires, the Xampla team has grown 26% since January 2022.

Hannah Pearse brings more than 14 years’ experience in nutrition, product technology and partnership development at companies including Nestlé and Sainsburys. Hannah has a wealth of experience in product development and improvement, and has worked extensively with major food and drink companies, leading strategic projects on health and nutrition.

In her new role, Hannah will bring her experience to bear in boosting Xampla’s sales strategy for ingredient products.  She will engage key figures in the food and beverage industry for the company’s nutrition, edible films and packaging applications.

Agnieszka Mizgier, joins as Quality and Food Safety Manager, bringing significant experience in the food and beverage markets. She joins from Camstar Ingredients, where she served as key contact for all customers and external regulatory bodies, including trading standards.

At Xampla, Agnieszka will lead technical developments of quality and food safety processes, working with key suppliers for new product approvals.

The new hires join Xampla following successful product launches with meal kit company Gousto and global soft drink retailer Britvic and a host of industry award wins in 2022, notably making the shortlist for Tom Ford’s Plastic Innovation Prize.

The company is now bolstering its team of experts to support its mission in delivering solutions to customers across the world. With industry-leading R&D capabilities, Xampla’s drop-in natural materials have applications in flexible films, microcapsules and coatings.

In their new roles, Hannah and Agnieszka will support with product launches and partnerships to be announced over the next 12 months.
