Black History Month: Reclaiming Histories

Join Us for Black History Month: Reclaiming Histories

Black History Month Celebrations at the Cambridge Guildhall

Celebrate Black History Month with us as we honour and reclaim the stories that have shaped Black communities in the UK and beyond. This year’s theme, "Reclaiming Histories," invites us to explore, understand, and celebrate the rich narratives that have often been overlooked or forgotten.

Talks and Discussions: Engage with thought-provoking talks that explore hidden histories and untold stories of Black communities. Discover how narratives around race, identity, and belonging are being reclaimed and redefined in the UK today.

Informative Session on the Windrush Legacy: Delve into the history and impact of the Windrush generation. This session will highlight the contributions of Caribbean migrants to British society, as well as the challenges they faced and their ongoing fight for justice.

Fusion of African and Caribbean Snacks: Enjoy a delicious blend of African and Caribbean snacks that reflect the shared culinary heritage of these regions, prepared by local caterers who bring authentic flavours and cultural stories to the table.

Open Mic – Reclaiming Our Voices: Share your voice in our open mic session. Whether through poetry, spoken word, or personal reflections, this is your chance to express how "Reclaiming Histories" resonates with you.
