MHFA Champions course

This Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England course trains delegates to be MHFA champions. The focus of this course is around understanding how to help build a mentally healthy workplace, challenge stigma and support positive well being for learners and others. Delegates will gain the confidence to advocate for mental health awareness.

Topics covered include stress, resilience and the risk factors for common mental health issues and mental health illnesses such as depression and anxiety. Delegates learn about crisis scenarios in mental health.  The programme introduces delegates to law and policy around mental health, discrimination litigation, and why organisations need to have a health and wellness strategy.

Our MHFA Champions 1 day adult course is ideal for organisations who wish to train their employees to ‘support’ existing mental health first aiders (MHFA), as well as empowering individuals to increase their own wellbeing and reduce stigma. To gain the full skill set of mental health first aid skills you must attend the two day course. Adult MHFA courses are for every one aged 18 upwards.

These public courses are memorable and according to delegate feedback, life changing for some. By running open courses that are inclusive we attract a diverse demographic which we believe is beneficial to all as we continue to learn from each other and grow as a more open minded and tolerant society.

We limit numbers to 16 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn. We always provide an opt-out option on all activities. Although these are facilitated in an inclusive, fun and engaging way we also understand some topics may be upsetting or triggering for some individuals.

Instructors are experienced in creating and facilitating a non-judgemental learning environment. The MHFA course also teaches participants to take away this attitude into their own lives following the training. All learners are made to feel safe and we often see the group bond as a result.

On-site training for all staff may also be a cost effective option. See our group discount rates here. Where necessary we can also arrange a suitable venue with free parking and hot or cold lunch to suit your schedule. Simply Contact us to discuss your individual needs.
