21 graduates, six school-leavers and an industrial placement student taken on in the Cambridge office
The new recruits include six school-leavers, who have joined Deloitte as part of the firm’s award-winning BrightStart Apprenticeship Programme, which is aimed at supporting students in gaining professional qualifications alongside on-the-job training. Along with the 21 graduates who have joined during the Autumn, the apprentices are joining a number of Cambridge-based teams.
Hannah Alawode, completed her A-levels at St Peters School, Huntingdon, studying maths, English language and IT. Hannah said: “What drew me to Deloitte was the diversity and love of people. I know that Deloitte Cambridge will be a great place to start my career in accountancy.”
As well as the new graduates, school leavers and industrial placements, a number of experienced hires have also joined. The IP Advisory team work with some of the most innovative companies in the world to help them discover, assess, protect and monetise their intellectual property and the Cambridge team has expanded, recruiting another two new joiners. They join a wider team which consists of engineers, mathematicians and scientists, as well as patent attorneys.
Georgi Rusinov, joined the Economic Advisory team, having worked for a global engineering and development consultancy. His background is in economic appraisal, impact assessment, urban development, and transport economics. Georgi said: “With its multidisciplinary expertise and a global network of clients working to build the world of tomorrow, Deloitte is the best place for me to help shape the future of infrastructure and the built environment through advising clients on major project appraisal, transport and city economics.”
As well as its Cambridge base, Deloitte also has an office in Ipswich, home to its growing Global Trade Bureau team who have over 100 years’ combined experience in freight, logistics, customs procedures and HMRC compliance. The Bureau supports global trade activities across EMEA, working with clients with multiple entities across sectors from food and retail to waste management and energy. It plans to increase to 55 people by June 2022.
