The new Arthur Rank Hospice Charity Shop on Broad Street in March (previously Quality Discount Store) is reaching out to the local community for new volunteers to support its opening.
Volunteers are needed to assist with various tasks including managing stock, serving customers, meeting supporters, and accepting generous donations from the community.
The new Charity Shop, will play a vital role in supporting people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition. The retail team is looking for enthusiastic individuals who are eager to make a difference in their community.
By volunteering at the Charity Shop, people will not only have the opportunity to support a local charity, providing end of life care and support to the people of March and across Wisbech and the Fens, but also to make a positive impact on the lives of local people who benefit from the services – available through Hospice at Home, the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre (in the Wisbech Hospital) and many other supportive care services led from the Hospice in Cambridge.
Whether it’s a few hours a week or a regular commitment, every volunteer makes a valuable contribution to the success of the Charity Shop, and, by extension, the services provided by Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.
Laura Denney, Retail Area Manager for the North Cambridgeshire shops at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity said:
“We are incredibly grateful for the support of our volunteers, who play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our charity shops across Cambridgeshire,”
“By volunteering with us, individuals not only help to raise vital funds for the Charity and it’s much needed services, but also become part of a warm and welcoming community, where they can learn new skills, make new friends, and make a real difference to the lives of local people.”
