Recently, during a session of our Wellbeing Wednesday group, ABC Life Support delivered a two-hour First Aid Training session. Led by Emma, an experienced trainer, the session offered an engaging and interactive experience, complete with hands-on practice on training dolls. The session left parents and staff feeling prepared to respond effectively in emergencies.
Sarah Crick, CEO at The Red Hen Project, said: “We’ve known the ABC Life Support team for a few years and have benefited from their brilliant training for our staff team’s first aid skills needs. We’re absolutely delighted to be able to now partner to give families we support the skills and confidence to take care of their children in the event of an emergency.”
As a social enterprise, ABC Life Support reinvests all profits back into its operations, enabling them to provide high-quality first aid training to those who might otherwise be unable to access. Their Basic Family First Aid Training program, which is a cornerstone of this initiative, offers participants comprehensive guidance on:
• The Primary Survey
• Recovery Position for an unconscious but breathing casualty
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Responding to choking incidents
• Treating minor bleeds, burns, and scalds
• Recognising childhood illnesses
“We will be working with The Red Hen Project throughout 2025 delivering first aid training to families. This is a wonderful charity who help families helping them with vital life skills and building confidence and relationships within the community. It is our aim to deliver these lifesaving skills to those who find traditional methods of accessing this kind of training limiting” explains Caroline Chalmers, Managing Director, ABC Life Support.
First aid training goes beyond simply teaching skills, it empowers individuals to act confidently in emergencies, fostering stronger, safer communities where everyone can make a difference.
