Cambridge-based digital agency Studio 24 has redesigned the famous industry website w3.org for W3C.

W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) is the international organisation that develops open web standards. Founded by the inventor of the web, Tim Berners-Lee, its work is essential to ensure the long-term growth of the web.

Accessibility was a major requirement of the project, ensuring the website is available to all. Studio 24 are accessibility experts and firmly believe in creating a web that works for everyone. As well as being the right thing to do, accessibility helps companies reach more people and makes a lot of business sense. However, it’s something many digital services and websites ignore.

“We’ve always believed in building a better web, making sure the websites we build are accessible regardless of who you are, what internet access you have, what device you’re using, or any disability you may have. This has always been a value of Studio 24.” Simon Jones, Founder and Managing Director at Studio 24

The tender for the redesign was open to agencies around the world and Studio 24 was up against some of the web industry’s biggest and best-known players.

Simon Jones said: “It’s been a huge privilege to help W3C redesign their website and also a pleasure to work with a client that values accessibility so highly. The experience has helped us to grow as an agency. The work has expanded the skills and the confidence of the team.”

“Redesigning our website is crucial to improve the overall experience of those who depend on us for our web standards work. As W3C makes the web work for everyone, we are grateful to Studio 24 for their incredible work, dedication and technical skills.” Coralie Mercier, Head of W3C Marketing & Communications

The site is at beta stage while W3C collects feedback from the community ahead of the full launch later this year. View the new W3C website at https://beta.w3.org and read the Studio 24 announcement at https://www.studio24.net/blog/w3c-beta-site-launch/
