About the Role:
As a Academic Development Apprentice, you'll provide professional administrative support across all Academic Development functions at the Institute, gaining insights into the full postgraduate student lifecycle. You'll be involved in:
- Recruitment and induction
- Record-keeping
- Using Institute and University databases and course management applications
- Assessment and examination
- Annual summer research programme
- Committee meetings
- Student communications
- Training and development
- Student experience
The apprenticeship is for a fixed term of 18 months. The role includes completing the Level 3 Business Support Administration apprenticeship qualification using the skills and knowledge that you will have built up to complete your projects and assignments.
Essential Skills:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade C (4+) or above, including English and Maths
- Interest in academic administration and commitment to completing the Level 3 Business Support Administration apprenticeship qualification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong customer-facing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and proactivity in handling changing priorities
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Teamwork and collaboration
Upon accepting the offer, the successful candidate will undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records) check and a security check.
