Estate Data Technician (Fixed Term)

The Role

The University of Cambridge is seeking a knowledgeable and committed individual to join the University's Estates Division as an Estate Data Technician within the Division's Business Information Team.

The Estates Division (ED) is responsible for a wide range of activities covering estate and transport planning; the commissioning, procurement, project management and maintenance of buildings; and the management of the environment, properties, facilities and supporting services. It employs over 300 staff, with a good proportion of them professionally qualified in academic-related posts, e.g., architects, engineers, and planners.

The Division creates and holds many digital records including drawings, models and space/occupancy related data which needs to be updated and maintained regularly.

You will work closely with the rest of the Estate Data Team, surveyors, projects and property teams within the Estates Division. You will also liaise with other University departments and external consultants, providing data as and when required.

About You

You have demonstrable experience of Autodesk products, such as AutoCAD and Revit. Knowledge and experience of a space management system, such as Micad would be advantageous. Knowledge of a GIS system such as Esri, ArcGIS would also be beneficial.

In addition, you will have experience of surveying and data analysis.

For this role you will need the ability to prioritise and complete tasks on time with minimal supervision. Be able to manage complex records with the ability to contribute as an effective member on project-based work.

You will be educated to degree level.

Fixed-term: 2 years.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check, a health assessment and a security check.
