Kitchen Assistant


30 hours per week (13-week fixed term contract)
£4,742.20 per annum (full time equivalent £22,130.24 per annum)
Chelmsford campus


We’re recruiting a Chelmsford Kitchen Assistant on a temporary basis for the Students’ Union at ARU, to start as soon as possible. In this role you will assist in providing food to our customers within our fast-paced café, providing great customer service and creating a friendly, welcoming environment.


What you will be doing
• Assisting with day-to-day kitchen tasks including daily food preparation, and cooking food items.
• Providing outstanding customer service at all times and promoting the values of the Students’ Union
• To help create a friendly atmosphere within the Students’ Union space
• To help keep the kitchen clean and presentable at all times
• To report any maintenance issues, or health and hygiene concerns to line management as soon as possible

 

What we’re looking for
• Great attention to detail
• Experience of working in a fast-paced hospitality environment
• Customer focused with the ability to work with a range of people

 


Skills that will help you
• Ability to work independently and within a small team
• Excellent communication skills

 


Where will you be working
This role is based on the Chelmsford campus.
