We are looking for passionate scientists to work in our Cell Engineering team within AstraZeneca’s Discovery Sciences based in Cambridge, UK. Join our dynamic team that specialises in delivering cell models for drug discovery.

What you'll do

As a member of our leading-edge team dedicated to developing cell models, you will apply innovative editing methods to modify disease relevant cells. You will work with our postdoc community, our global precise genome editing community and external collaborators to improve current CRISPR methods for use in preclinical model generation. You will also have the opportunity to maintain scientific excellence, presenting data to key partners internally and at external conferences, and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Working within AstraZeneca’s Discovery Sciences unit, you will be joining a community of scientists with broad technological expertise dedicated to drug discovery.

Essential Criteria

  • BSc or MSc in cell biology, molecular biology or equivalent experience
  • Experience of culture and manipulation of cell lines
  • Strong experimental design and problem-solving skills
  • Scientific excellence as shown by previous work, publication history and references from scientific mentors
  • Excellent team working, communication and networking skills with experience of interacting effectively across different field, cultural, and expertise boundaries.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in Oncology signaling pathways
  • Experience of CRISPR/Cas9, genome editing and stable cell engineering
  • Experience in endogenous tagging
  • Experience of cell-based assays and high content imaging to measure disease-relevant phenotypes
  • Experience of NGS and NGS data analysis
