Climate X, the climate risk intelligence innovator, has successfully raised $18 million in a Series A funding round led by GV, paving the way for acceleration of its global expansion and reinforcement of financial organisations' focus on the impact of climate change across their physical asset portfolios. The round saw participation from notable investors including Pale blue dot, CommerzVentures, A/O Proptech, Blue Wire Capital, PT1, Unconventional Ventures and Western Technology Investment (WTI).

The London-based company specialises in providing financial insight analytics that project and price climate-related risks to physical assets and corporate business performance worldwide. Amid tightening regulatory frameworks on climate risk exposure requirements, Climate X's platform offers critical insights to heavyweight asset managers such as CBRE and Legal & General.

The funding will facilitate Climate X's entry into the North American market with a strategic base in New York while further developing its product suite to meet evolving commercial and regulatory needs.

"This deal marks a watershed moment for both Climate X and the broader financial services industry grappling with the tangible effects of climate change," said Phil Shepherd, Partner"We are proud to have been integral to such a forward-thinking transaction that promises significant impact on global asset valuation methodologies."
