Allia - Tim Jones, Lord Lee of Treford Ram

Allia is delighted to announce the appointment of Tim Jones as Chairman of its Board of Trustee Directors. Tim’s appointment comes as Ram Gidoomal CBE FIC FRSA retires after more than 17 years in office and was recently celebrated at a reception at the House of Lords hosted by Lord Lee of Trafford and attended by Allia Trustees, staff, supporters and friends.

Tim Jones has been with Allia since 2002 as Chief Executive then Secretary of the Allia Group and Chairman of its FCA regulated subsidiary City and Continental. Tim is a Liveryman and Court Assistant at the Worshipful Company of International Bankers and holds a number of other directorships including Treatt plc where he is Chairman and SP-Logistics Ltd (Oximio) where he is also Chairman.

Commenting on Ram’s retirement, Tim said:

‘I was honoured and privileged to say goodbye to, and at the same time to succeed, Ram Gidoomal CBE, as Chairman of Allia when we had a reception in his honour at the House of Lords this month. As Chief Executive I worked with Ram from January 2005 when he became Allia’s Chairman until I stood down from the CEO role in 2019. Throughout that time he was always happy to be on hand with words of wisdom and friendship for me and with quiet assurance for the Board – and I, and many, many colleagues past and present thank him enormously for the great contribution he has made to Allia’.

In a recent period of change, Allia Trustee Rob Trimble stepped down (Chief Executive of the Bromley by Bow Centre) after several years’ service, and four new appointments to the Allia Board were made as the charity welcomed Amanda Lewis, Shuli Levy, Veronika Koroleva and Katharine Lewis, all of whom were formally appointed in spring 2022. The new Trustees bring with them a wealth of experience across the fields of finance, risk & governance and investment - and are all passionate about addressing the economic, social and environmental challenges facing society.
