The charity is currently investing in 28 research projects in the area, including at the University of Cambridge and University of East Anglia, worth £7.5m.
Earlier this year, results for the Alzheimer’s drug, lecanemab, made history, proving it’s never been more important to continue supporting vital research to find life-changing treatments and one day, a cure, for people living with dementia.
Hilary Evans, Chief Executive of Alzheimer's Research UK, said: “It’s an honour to be recognised as one of the Best Companies to Work for in the East of England for the third year running, an award that could not be made possible without our dedicated employees.
“Dementia is our greatest medical challenge and without life-changing preventions and treatments, one in three people born today will develop dementia in their lifetime. I’d like to thank our brilliant workforce who recognise the power of their efforts and continue to wave the flag for dementia research, so that one day, we will end the heartbreak of dementia."
Alison Kelly, Director of HR at Alzheimer's Research UK, said: “It’s a privilege to have been given the opportunity to work alongside some of the most passionate, inspiring, and dedicated people over the last six years. This year, I have seen a real strength among our team as we regain momentum after the difficult and uncertain economic period that COVID-19 brought us. I’m incredibly proud to be part of such a forward thinking and supportive organisation and knowing that the work we’re doing is changing lives.”
