Anglia Ruskin targets success in Thelmas

Anglia Ruskin University is celebrating after securing two nominations in the prestigious Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards – the Thelmas!

In the Outstanding Student Services Team category, Anglia Ruskin is shortlisted alongside the University of Bedfordshire, Birkbeck University of London, the University of Chester, the University of Roehampton and the University of Surrey.

The Outstanding Finance Team shortlist sees Anglia Ruskin up against Brunel University, the University of Hertfordshire, Leeds Metropolitan University, the University of Leicester and the University of West London.

Julie Walkling, Director of Student Services, said: “Our submission was on the basis of the huge step change we have made collectively to improve the student experience at Anglia Ruskin.

“Obviously whilst I would like us to win, we have still done very well to be shortlisted and we can all take pride in our achievements.  Times Higher have congratulated us on being shortlisted as there has been an increase in both the quality and quantity of entries this year.”

Mike Frost, Assistant Director of Finance, said: “We work closely with four faculties and 17 support services with a turnover of circa £170 million, and are involved at all levels of the organisation.  Being shortlisted for Outstanding Finance Team is a wonderful reflection of the work our department is doing at Anglia Ruskin.”

The awards will be announced at a black tie event at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, on Thursday, 21 June.
