The half-day workshop has been designed to help businesses develop clear recruitment and retention strategies that will not only develop talent from within but also deter those most valuable assets from moving on.
The session will be jointly-led by Andy Collings, Managing Director of Huntingdon-based Improve Business Performance Ltd. An experienced business manager and trainer, Andy specialises in helping business leaders achieve their full potential by developing stronger skills in leadership, negotiation and employee engagement.
Together with Judith Underhill, owner of Underhill Associates, Andy will help businesses analyse their current approach and identify improved ways to recruit and retain talented individuals, manage employee performance, use employee benefits to reward employees for their performance and ensure team members maintain a positive work-life balance.
John Bridge OBE, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, said:“Recruiting and training new staff is a costly process. When employees move on valuable knowledge is lost and the break in continuity inevitably affects productivity levels and staff dynamics. That’s why it is so much more cost-effective for business managers to have a defined strategy in place to keep those key employees engaged and fulfilled within their role. We’re delighted to have brought together two experts in this field to explain the importance of connecting, engaging and communicating with team members at every level in order to ensure they feel valued. As well as a positive impact on business costs, such a strategy will also have a considerable impact on any company’s ability to move forward and execute ambitious growth plans.”
Designed for business owners and HR managers, ‘How to Build and Retain a Talented Team’ takes place at Huntingdon Racecourse from 9.00am-12.00pm on Tuesday 1 July.
