Businesses encouraged to swap their out-of-control spreadsheets to avoid falling behind

Businesses are being provided with an opportunity to discover how a new system could flag up to them when they are missing opportunities to retain customers or increase sales at an event being run by Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce.

CRM software is out there, most of us have heard the abbreviation and all of its accompanying benefits, but why should we be interested?

It’s been revealed that businesses are missing out on numerous opportunities to retain their customers, increase sales and generate new leads by using confusing and ineffective spreadsheets to store and track customer data.

During a practical workshop, businesses will be shown how a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system could make missed opportunities a thing of the past - as delegates discover how swapping their spreadhseets for a CRM system could help them get the most out of their marketing campaigns, as well as flag up to them when they should be making contact with customers.

Speaking ahead of the event Don Wiid, Director of Contact Edge CRM, said: “Order books are filling up and the top problem faced by businesses is determining how to track all the deals which includes making sure that quotes are followed up and prospects are followed up. A CRM system would help a business do this and, as a fringe benefit, improve the communication between team members – whether they are remote or on-site. I believe that CRM will be as ubiquitous as email in a few years and no right-minded business owner should consider running a business without it.”
