Richard Brockbank (above) brings a wealth of experience to the role of Chief Financial Officer. After graduating from the University of Cambridge and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Richard has gained over 15 years’ experience leading and advising businesses in their financial strategy, planning and governance. Richard joined the Cambridge in 2015 as Head of Finance, where he has been integral to the delivery of The Cambridge’s strategy to deliver sustainable growth focussed on long term benefits to both savers and borrowers. Richard succeeds Peter Burrows in the role, who last year was successfully appointed as Chief Executive of the Society.

Carole has over 17 years’ experience working in Financial Services specifically at The Cambridge. After graduating from the University of Sheffield, Carole started working at The Cambridge, firstly as Research Assistant and most recently as Head of Marketing. Carole has led the Society through many changes and successes, from a complete rebrand in 2011 to leading on the Society’s strategy to ensure their continued support for their local community. As Chief Commercial Officer, Carole will be responsible for the lending, product, marketing and customer experience teams at The Cambridge.
Carole Charter said, “I’m delighted to be confirmed as the first Chief Commercial Officer of The Cambridge Building Society. In this new role it’ll be my focus to ensure that we continue our commitment to delivering mortgage and savings products that meet customer needs and that The Cambridge stays completely embedded and engaged with the local community it has served for over 170 years. I am looking forward to contributing to our success as a thriving, independent, mutual business, which continues to support people have a home and remain a trusted place for people to save.”
