The Cambridge Ethnic Community Forum will use the cash to set up a two year project called ‘Action For Change’ to support Asian women from across Cambridge to develop new skills and meet new people.
Cambridge MP Daniel Zeichner, who will visit the Forum at Sturton Street on Friday, said: "Congratulations to the Cambridge Ethnic Community Forum on securing this funding. I’m delighted to hear about the plans for a new community network offering fun cooking classes as well as training in communication skills, confidence and life skills.”
Chief Executive Officer of the Cambridge Ethnic Community Forum, Eddie Stadnik said: “This grant will help us be part an enabling process which will develop the individual skills of the women and develop community capacity building. For any successful strategy to tackle poverty it is extremely important that women are engaged and empowered and this project will deliver on this.”
