The recent report of the West Anglia Taskforce shows that Cambridge’s poor transport links are “the greatest potential obstacle to future growth.”
Mr Zeichner will highlight Cambridge Ahead’s 'The Case for Cambridge' which calls for a new railway station south of the city on the Bio-Medical Campus which would particularly help commuting doctors and nurses at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, as well as staff at the bio-medical campus including the new AstraZeneca development.
Daniel Zeichner MP said: “If Cambridge is to remain a world class city we need to invest in infrastructure. The Government know about the need for a station at Addenbrooke’s, and have just awarded a new franchise bringing new trains, but now we need the line improvements and stations to match.
"A new station at Addenbrookes is a must. Given the Brexit vote, now is the moment to act to maintain our global competitiveness.”
