The movie double bill kicks off at 6.30pm with the highly acclaimed children’s animated film, Toy Story 2 - followed at 8.30pm by the 1964 James Bond classic, Goldfinger (PG), starring Sean Connery and Honor Blackman.
As with previous screenings, this is a free event in Market Square, outside the Guildhall, and limited seating is provided on a first-come-first-served basis. Owing to the popularity of previous events, moviegoers are recommended to come early and/or bring their own portable chairs.
The Continental-style Night Market will once again feature more than 50 local businesses and pop-ups selling a variety of street food, beverages, clothing and unique gifts. Tasty offerings include Venezualan pabellons from Arepa’s Station, Nigerian delicacies from Africfood, dim sum from Ping’s and Malaysian rengdang dosas from Dosa Hut to name but a few. La Raza Events will also be providing a fully licenced cocktail bar.
Ian Sandison, Chairman of Cambridge BID, said: “Toy Story was such a hit with families at last month’s event that it was only right to follow with the sequel, Toy Story 2 - as well as another timeless classic, Goldfinger. Once again, we will be using a special LED screen, which works brilliantly in daylight and darkness, enabling us to start earlier for younger film fans.
“With an outdoor cinema and an eclectic Night Market, there really is something for everyone to enjoy – and, with this happening in the middle of the Summer holidays, we are expecting the evening to be well-attended. We look forward to welcoming lots of families who haven’t yet experienced the fun at this fantastic community event!”
