Cambridge voted as UK's best mid-size city

New survey results from Which? have ranked Cambridge as the best mid-size city to visit in the UK. Based on metrics like food and drink, accommodation, cultural significance and value for money, Cambridge beat out competitors including Oxford, Norwich and Canterbury to come out on top.

Which? cited the beautiful colleges, immaculately kept gardens and the allure of punting as among the best of what Cambridge has to offer. (But it’s not just what is on the tourist trail that got the judges excited. Our very own vibrant and diverse Mill Road was singled out for a special mention as were the ever popular Botanic Gardens and Kettle’s Yard.)

Commenting, Daniel Zeichner MP had this to say:

“This welcoming accolade comes as no surprise. It is a testament to the hard work of all those who work in the hospitality and visitor sector, those who keep our streets clean, and our well-run council. Cambridge’s ambition should know no bounds, and we should aspire to be the best small city in the world. To be great for visitors, however, is not enough. For the people who keep Cambridge going all year round, we must tackle inequality in every form of life so that we are not just the most welcoming city, but also the fairest”.
