Carbon Trust workshops will help SMEs

Cambridge City Council is working with the Carbon Trust to promote a new energy efficiency programme called START2ACT, which will assist young SMEs and start-ups with energy reduction at work to cut energy costs and carbon emissions.

START2ACT will provide free-of-charge energy efficiency training, online energy saving advice and breakfast events to young SMEs and start-ups in the UK and other countries across Europe.

To kick off this programme, the Carbon Trust is distributing a survey to SMEs and start-ups in the UK with a chance to win the following great prizes*:

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Kindle Oasis

Sony Smartwatch 3 SWR50

Jabra Move wireless headphones

The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete and will help the programme to understand your motivations and the barriers that you are facing in implementing energy saving measures at your company and at home.

From November 2016, START2ACT will be offering the following free services to young SMEs and start-ups with under 50 employees:

  • A breakfast training event to learn about how you can save energy and costs in your business (includes a free breakfast!)
  • Tailored training including up to 3 three visits and ongoing support from energy efficiency experts, to identify energy saving opportunities on your site
  • Online training including an e-learning module
  • An energy saving competition, where you can complete stages to earn recognition, including a prize for the winners

If you would like to register your interest for one of these services, please email Lucy Hunt at START2ACT@carbontrust.com.
