This internationally-recognised award requires chemical scientists to maintain high professional standards through continued learning and reflective practice.
To support candidates through the process, Domino has three in-house Co-ordinators who run the Scheme: Dr Steven Lancaster, Lead Analytical R&D Scientist, Christina Bird, Senior Analytical Chemist and Fiona Calver, Senior Ink Verification Specialist.
They said: “We are delighted that two more of our scientists have recently been successful in achieving this important recognition of their skills and experience.
“Penny has demonstrated considerable enthusiasm for the chemical sciences, with high levels of knowledge in her field and a passion for professional development. Brett’s passion for science is clear and his extensive technical knowledge and personable nature made for a thought-provoking and thoroughly engaging discussion. Well done to both candidates.”
Penny paid tribute to her mentor Stuart Reynolds, as well as the in-house Co-ordinators, for their guidance and support. She said: “I am proud to have achieved Membership of the RSC, which reflects the chemical knowledge and expertise I have developed during my time at Domino.”
Brett McElwaine added: “This achievement brings together my 14 years of working in the chemistry field and completing the portfolio and self-reflection exercises really helped me to better understand my capabilities and strengths. Thank you to the dedicated Domino staff who run the RSC-Accredited Scheme and to my mentor for support along the way.”
Domino’s RSC Accredited Training Scheme has been running since 2013 and since then, 19 Chemists have achieved Chartered Chemist status and one Chemist has achieved Membership status.
