Could you walk 50km to help raise £50k for charity?

Leading disability charity Papworth Trust is currently recruiting teams for a 50k for £50k fundraising walk on Saturday 16 June 2012. The charity is looking for businesses and organisations to take part in the challenge.

This is the third time the Trust has run the event, and this year the walk will be supported by sponsors Bidwells and Barclays.

To achieve the fundraising target of £50k the charity needs 25 teams of between 4-6 people.  All members of the team will walk 50km together in just one day, and will be asked to raise at least £2,000 sponsorship per team for their efforts. Prizes will be awarded to the team who raises the largest amount of sponsorship money, as well as the fastest team to complete the walk.

The scenic route follows parts of the ancient Icknield Way, starting deep in Thetford Forest in Suffolk and finishing in the village of Burrough Green in Cambridgeshire, where Papworth Trust will host a well earned celebration.

The sponsored walk is a great opportunity for team building and to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion.  For the teams, it could be an incentive to get fit doing something different and fun in fantastic scenery, whilst getting the satisfaction of completing a challenge.
