D&A Creative reimagining MarketPlace's Brand

MarketPlace works with local people to create exciting, innovative, and fun creative experiences across the Fenland and the Forest Heath area of West Suffolk. Part of the Creative People and Places programme, developed by Arts Council England and with support from National Lottery funds.

MarketPlace was looking for a brand refresh for its marketing materials. Supporting so many different events and experiences for a wide-ranging audience – from toddlers to the retired community – meant that their marketing materials needed to work hard to appeal to a broad spectrum. Previous materials had lost brand coherency and the marketing team wanted someone to produce a range of template designs for flyers and posters. These could be used internally to create consistent materials for the different events.

The final chosen design played on the fun ‘splat’ element of the existing logo. Overlaying bright coloured ‘splats’ gave the design a fresh, engaging feel. These shapes could be used to frame imagery, or as background for text and icons so they were very fluid and gave scope to the designs depending on content.
