Daniel Zeichner said: “I am looking forward to engaging with the bright young minds of the Debating Society and I’m sure my colleagues in Parliament would learn a great deal from their debating skills!

“I am very pleased to take the opportunity to speak in favour of opening our doors to refugees, and to keep making the case for Cambridge as a tolerant, open and welcoming city. People in Cambridge have been very generous in welcoming and supporting refugees, and the coordination of the Cambridge Refugee Resettlement Campaign has been crucial.”

Chris Green, Director of English and Drama, said: “We are very much looking forward to Daniel Zeichner MP attending a meeting of Senior Debating Society at The Perse School. It will be an invaluable experience for our students to debate such an important topic with their local MP and learn more about the issues surrounding refugees coming into the UK.

“It’s a privilege for our students to debate with Mr Zeichner and we appreciate the time he is investing into this opportunity.”
