Best Employers has been changing the face of employee engagement since 2012, by helping organisations get a deeper understanding of their employees through a detailed engagement survey. Personalised results and tailored action plans then help them evolve their workplaces for the better. The awards and accreditations recognise and celebrate the best of the best.
We’re very proud of helping hundreds of organisations create forward-thinking cultures that drive engagement, productivity and profitability. That’s why we’ll be doing it again in 2025.
We’re delighted to announce the launch of Best Employers Eastern Region 2025.
Why should organisations take part?
Engaged employees are proven to increase profitability. In fact, companies with highly engaged employees outperform competitors by 147% (Forbes, 2021).
Finding out how employees really feel through the Best Employers’ survey shows them that their organisation values and encourages their thoughts and opinions. This will give a sense of purpose and belonging, and create a more committed workforce. One that’s invested in mission and goals.
It’ll also improve employer brand, making it easier to recruit and retain top talent.
Being part of Best Employers has other benefits too. It’s created a community of like-minded organisations across the east who support and challenge each other. They also share insights and progress, and are growing together as leaders.
Finally, Best Employers includes two conferences. These offer a unique chance to network with other organisations, and pick up tips and ideas to develop people strategies. They both feature high-profile thought leaders and speakers sharing tips on improving the employee experience.
How it works
Best Employers’ starts with the survey. Designed by our partners eras, experts in psychometrics, it’ll capture all the data needed to monitor and evolve workplace culture. To help people answer as honestly as possible, it’s completely anonymous.
When the survey ends, the results are sent to the participating organisation in a report with tailored recommendations, and an action plan based on the feedback. Benchmarking data is provided to show comparisons with similar organisations.
Participating organisations will also have access to leading experts through our partners, Birketts LLP and Mobas. Birketts is a UK top 50 full-service law firm and will be supporting the programme with sector-specific insights, helping clients navigate regulatory, economic and political shifts. Mobas can help shape employer brand, manage reputation, and stand out in the talent marketplace with a carefully crafted strategy including an employee value proposition (EVP), that drives tangible business results.
The Best Employers’ badge of honour
If an organisation achieves a high engagement score, they’ll be invited to apply for silver, gold or platinum accreditation. Organisations can win an award and be showcased as an outstanding employer in our region.
Creating positive change in our communities
Best Employers is a not-for-profit programme. By donating money from entry fees and ticket sales for events, we’ve raised over £56,000 for regional charities. That means that organisations taking part will be giving back to the local community.
This year we’ve chosen to donate to Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. This impressive organisation helps people in Cambridgeshire with serious illnesses or life-limiting conditions, as well as those who need end-of-life care. They’re also a powerful advocate for employee engagement, having taken part in Best Employers for many years.
Driving excellence across the east
45,000 employees have completed the Best Employers’ survey since it began, from over 560 organisations. These companies have used their results to create thriving and inclusive workplaces.
Don’t just take our word for it:
- ‘We’ve used our results to shape our whole HR strategy. Not only does Best Employers give you great insights into things you can celebrate, it also shines a light on ways to become an even better place to work.’ Alex Triplow, head of HR for Holkham Estate in North Norfolk
- ‘Best Employers allowed us to formulate our overall wellbeing strategy based on feedback received from the team, rather than one-off, anecdotal comments. The benchmarking data enabled us to put those results into context.’ Ian White, Managing Director at Becketts Investment Management Group
- ‘We’ve seen a real change in the organisation as a direct result of taking part in this. I’m extremely proud of what we’ve managed to do … It’s an amazing reward for all of us to see the impact of running this process.’ Sarah Atkins, East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Lynn Walters is the programme co-founder and director of Pure. She’s proud of the impact that Best Employers has had on organisations across the east of England.
‘There is no other programme like this. It delivers employee insight, a forum to share and shape ideas and also gives back to the local community. If you are interested in finding out how Best Employers Eastern Region can benefit regional organisations, please get in touch with our team.’
