Ely City Golf Club celebrates its Golden Jubilee with 50 free rounds of golf

Cambridgeshire golfers looking for a free round at one of the finest courses in the county should be hitting this link to Ely City Golf Club.

As part of the club's Golden Jubilee celebrations, there are 25 complimentary 2-Balls to be enjoyed during 2012.

The closing date for the draw is July 31st, with complimentary rounds available through to December 31st 2012. The prize draw is open to all golfers and winners will be announced in early August.  Full terms and conditions are available online.

Ely City was extended to a full 18 hole course in 1962 by renowned golfer and golf course architect Henry Cotton, with a commemorative round completed by leading US golfer Lee Travino who set the course record with a round of 62. His impressive score card is framed and remains on show for inspection in the clubhouse foyer.

A programme of continuous work has seen many subtle but important changes to maintain Ely’s reputation as one of the best course in East Anglia.  Significant changes to many of the bunkers over the winter marks the latest improvement, adding new elements of risk and reward to shot-making, as experienced recently by the top lady golfers competing in the County Championships held at the course in May.
