The Employment Rights Bill (the Bill) was laid before parliament on Thursday 10 October 2024, in line with the Labour Government’s commitment to introduce legislation within 100 days of taking power. The Bill puts into law the Government’s pledge to give unions and workers "stronger rights to redress the power imbalance in the workplace".
In this webinar, we will provide an update on the Bill, and an overview of reforms employers need to be aware of, including:
- the day one right not to be unfairly dismissed;
- zero hours contracts and worker status;
- flexible working;
- collective grievances;
- fair pay, including the removal of the waiting period for SSP;
