Future Focus gives students a view of the world of work

The Future Focus Fair being held at The Kings School Ely today (Monday March 19) is a career-oriented event offering 15-year-old students a glimpse of the working world. Representatives from local companies will be on hand to speak to students about future career options.

Broadcom, a global leader and innovator in semiconductor solutions for wired and wireless communications, will be demonstrating the popular Raspberry Pi, a computer that is the size of a credit card, costs just £22, and is being praised as the latest way to train the next generation of computer programmers.

Educating the next generator of innovators is important to Broadcom and its non-profit foundation.  The Broadcom Foundation supports STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education through partnerships with local schools, colleges, universities and non-profit organizations to inspire and enable young people to enter technology careers.

Broadcom Vice President of Engineering Tim Ramsdale will be available at the Future Focus Fair to talk about engineering career options for students.
