Howes Percival recognised in East Midlands Dealmakers Awards

Howes Percival has been recognised for its role in Insider Media East Midlands Dealmakers Awards’ ‘SME Deal of the Year’ 2020, the MBO of Harrison Castings. The firm was also shortlisted for the ‘Corporate Law Firm of the Year’ category.

The annual awards recognise the East Midlands’ professional services firms, corporate finance firms, banks, funders, private equity houses and individuals who have excelled in dealmaking over the past year. The awards are judged by a panel of independent experts and, while no awards ceremony took place this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the winners were announced on Insider Media’s website on 20 October 2020.

Howes Percival advised HSBC on the funding package supporting the MBO of Harrison Castings which also involved Freeths, Knights, Cooper Parry Corporate Finance, Grant Thornton and Magma.

Daniel Banton, head of Howes Percival’s Corporate, Commercial and Banking team said: “This is excellent news and testament to the progress we have made over the last few years. We have invested heavily in our Corporate, Commercial and Banking team across the firm and it’s clear that our strategy is paying dividends. Howes Percival’s recognition this year also shows that, even in these uncertain times, our teams have been able to work remotely and provide the same high standard of work and seamless service to our clients throughout the pandemic.”

Haydon Simmonds, Banking and Finance partner who led the team on advising HSBC said: “I am delighted that the team advised on the financing aspects of this MBO. The firm has made significant progress over the past two years in terms of its Banking & Finance offering and this is also reflected in the East Midlands’ Banking & Finance team’s recognition in this year’s Legal 500.”
