The competition aims to accelerate the development of novel medical technologies to deliver improved patient benefits, and outcomes. This year’s entries showcased ideas from within a wide range of disciplines including pharmaceutical management, rehabilitation medicine, circulatory support and radiotherapy. From a shortlist of seven finalists, Dr Lintin’s device was chosen for its potential to meet a currently unmet need in healthcare: up to 35% of adult women suffer from urine incontinence.

Dr Lintin’s device stood out to us because of its huge potential to deliver life-changing benefits to millions of women across the world. Health Tech Enterprise’s Innovation Voucher Competition has already supported the development of novel medical devices including Dr Ryan Seguna and Dr Jurgen Herre’s thoracentesis device (2021) and Mr Ryan Mathew and Dr Heiko Wurdak’s Mini-brain benchtop test (2020).

eg technology, a Cambridge-based design, engineering and development consultancy, specialise in taking medical and diagnostic devices from concept to realisation. The team will work with Dr Lintin to develop and progress his idea.
