The event  - in the West Café of the Hauser Forum - was headlined by Cambridge-based company Solarflare, whose VP of UK Engineering, Martin Porter, gave a talk on their technology and provided insight into the organisation's recruitment processes.

The evening, organised by Cambridge Network's Recruitment Gateway team, featured a range of exhibitors representing local employers. All were constantly engaged in conversation with jobseekers.

Popular CV clinics run by Katherine Wiid and Lindsey Reed, careers specialists from Career Ambitions, were also full, with queues forming: candidates learned how best to present themselves with their CVs and cover letters.

Professional photographer Jemima Wilcox brought along a pop-up photo booth and was kept busy, taking professional headshots throughout the evening. Candidates can use their headshots to enhance their online profiles ie Linkedin.

Other exhibitors included Booking.com, AVEVA, Radio Physics Solutions, Contamac, MSF Technologies, agency sponsors polkadotfrog, Plextek and Cambridge Medical Robotics.

Claire Angus, Head of Recruitment Gateway, said: "All the stands looked great and the evening was a resounding success. Our exhibiting members had hundreds of roles on offer between them, so candidates were able to find out about a wide range of opportunities.

"Solarflare even provided cupakes with their logo on, and we supplied pancakes and maple syrup so that candidates didn't feel like they were missing out on pancake day!"
