Learn a new Sample Preparation technique online with Anthias Consulting

Do you want to greatly enhance your knowledge in sample preparation, or learn a completely new technique? Anthias Consulting is pleased to offer a suite of sample preparation training courses through its Virtual Classroom platform.

The online courses take all the practical theory from Anthias’ Hands-on courses to cover each technique in high detail. The training is universal, applicable to all makes and models of instrumentation.

The majority of the courses are approved by the Royal Society of Chemistry for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), enabling analysts to keep their professional development on track, either from home or work.

The courses take place in Anthias’ Virtual Classroom where attendees will learn the individual steps and processes of analysis and the various parameters that can be optimised to improve method robustness and sensitivity.

The courses teach how to maintain each technique on an instrument, along with the maintenance and troubleshooting problems commonly encountered.

Delegates will benefit from Anthias consultants’ experience using these techniques on live instruments across a broad range of industries and applications, on multi-disciplinary projects. Participants will learn all the tips and tricks to help them get the most from their instrumentation.

Previous delegates from Anthias’ Hands-on Sample Preparation courses have commented on their experience of the knowledge and interaction with the trainer:

"(I enjoyed) the freedom to ask specific questions and make sure that the course answered all problems/questions."

"Clear explanation of every TD Aspect. Very useful tips and tricks."

"Good knowledge and interactive of Diane."

With Anthias' live Virtual Classroom training courses, delegates can ask live questions at any time and have them answered in real time before moving on to the next topic or slide. This can be either by using their microphone or by typing into the Q&A box or chat feed, making the training highly interactive. Delegates can also follow up with the trainer on any questions which come to mind following the training, perhaps once they have returned to the lab to apply the knowledge.

The courses are ideal for those already using the techniques and looking to enhance their knowledge and improve their methods, as well as those looking to learn a new technique and the benefits to using it for the analysis of their samples.

The Practical Essentials of Thermal Desorption (TD) has been taught successfully by Anthias Senior Consultant Dr Diane Turner, at Pittcon Short Courses in 2019. Diane received great feedback with delegates commenting on the usefulness of the content:

"This course gave me a good overview of what goes into analyzing with thermal desorption alone and helped to formulate some ideas of how it can be implemented in our laboratory. This course moved at a steady pace, was perfect for a novice. There wasn't anything I was not able to understand and possibly use in the future."

"Very thorough. Slides are excellent. Good pace."

The Practical Essentials of Thermal Desorption Virtual Classroom course takes place on 6th November 2020 at 1:30pm – 5.00pm (GMT) – find out more about the course and register now.

The following sample preparation courses are also available as Virtual Classroom training, with dates to be announced. Register your interest to be contacted with dates once they are available – see each individual course page to register your interest:
