After the recent success of the Lionesses this Summer, and growing interest in the Women’s Super League (WSL), momentum for females playing football is rapidly building.
There has been a boom in investment into girl’s football over the last five years, with initiatives from the FA and the Premier League designed to make football more accessible to girls at grassroots level and support provided to local football clubs with investment and development in their emerging talent centres.
With the demand growing from girls wanting to play football, clubs such as Cambridge United are leading the way, creating clear pathways and opportunities for girls of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to get involved in football.
Adrian Brown, a director at MM Wealth commented: “It’s exciting times for girls’ football, and we are proud to be sponsoring two of Cambridge United Women FC first team players this season; Goalkeeper, Lauren Webb and Defender, Lauren Rouse."
Cambridge United Women FC are competing in the FA Women’s National Div. 1SE this season and play their home games at St Neots Town FC and the Abbey Stadium, Cambridge. We are excited to follow their journey and we’re looking forward to supporting them both throughout the season.”
